All Goalies (14U,15O,16U,18U)

If you want a chance to play TW just sign up for the open camp, same process as the skaters.  TW staff will notify you via email by May 17th how the process will work for your son during the May 19th-20th weekend.  This is fluid based on how many players and goalies register at each age group.  Some goalies will come in on the morning of the 19th and compete for a chance to tryout during the remaining tryout May 19th-20th.  Some goalies will be placed directly into the May 19th-20th tryouts, again based on numbers that are fluid up until a few days before tryout.

All players plan on attending BOTH tryout camps. Players will be selected from the first camp to compete in the final tryout camp. You will be notified via e-mail if you are selected for a final camp.

2003 birth years not selected for the U16 team after attending the final camp may be selected for the Midget 15O Team. See below for more information.
All tryout camps are day camps only. Parents will be responsible for travel, food, lodging and supervision of their players.
Note: All Team Wisconsin players at ALL age levels except 14U must be Wisconsin Residents playing High School Hockey in the fall.  Any player 14U eligible (2004 or 2005) may play High School(if a freshmen) or play for thier local WAHA Tier 2 Bantam/PeeWee Team.  You will need to notify your local Tier 2 team of minor overlaps in Oct and first week of Nov if you play TW and for your local Tier 2 Bantam/PeeWee Team.

Information about the Team Wisconsin 18U Team

The Team Wisconsin 18U Team will play in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League and compete in the Tier 1 State Playoff in March, 2019 for a chance to move on to the Central District Playoff and National Tournament. The Upper Midwest High School Elite Leauge is an extremely competitive pre high school season league. This league has traditionally been heavily scouted and is a great opportunity for Wisconsin players.

Information about the Team Wisconsin 16U Team

The Team Wisconsin 16U Team will play an independent Tier 1 schedule and compete in the Tier 1 State Playoff in March, 2019 for a chance to move on to the Central District Playoff and National Tournament. The independent schedule will include top midwest Tier 1 competition as well as possible Tier 1 tournaments.

Information about the Team Wisconsin 15O(15 only) Team

The Team Wisconsin 15U Team will be comprised of 2003 birth years.  This team will play part time in the Elite Prep Development League in Minnesota which is a very competitive pre high school season league for freshman, sophomores and juniors in high school and the home to Minn Tier 1 16U teams. The remaining schedule will be filled with Tier 1 weekends in 15O/16U tournaments or weekends with other Tier 1 programs from across the midwest.  The 15O Team will play an independent Tier 1 schedule and compete in the Tier 1 State Playoff in March, 2019 for a chance to move on to the Central District Playoff and National Tournament.

The 15O Team at a glance:

  • 2003 birth year players are eligible.  USA Hockey does not allow 2004 or younger birth years to play 15-Only.
  • No separate tryout, players must attend the TW 16U tryouts as 2003's are competing for a roster spot on both 15O and 16U.
  • USA Hockey post season(spring) run at 15O Nationals.
  • Players must meet all other Team Wisconsin eligibility requirements.

Information about the Team Wisconsin 2004 (14U) Team

The Team Wisconsin 2004 Team will play an independent Tier 1 schedule and compete in the Tier 1 State Playoff in March, 2019 for a chance to move on to the Central District Playoff and National Tournament. The independent schedule will include top Midwest Tier 1 competition as well as possible Tier 1 tournaments.

14U Boys will be allowed skate with their High School OR local Tier II association and play for Team Wisconsin. This will allow middle school/Jr High boys to play Team Wisconsin and for their local Bantam program.  The only real conflict is players need to commit to their local Tier 2 team if the Tier 2 State happens to overlap with TW State.

Team Wisconsin Practices and Home Games

Practice and development are an extremely important part of the Team Wisconsin model. However, Team Wisconsin players come from all parts of the state, so scheduling practices and choosing a location for home games is challenging. Once the team rosters are determined, coaches will work with managers to put together a workable practice schedule. Additionally, Team Wisconsin will again hold regional development practices on weeknights thoughout the state. More information will be available in the upcoming weeks.

Additional Information

As mentioned above, all Team Wisconsin players at all age levels must be Wisconsin Residents playing High School Hockey in the fall with the exception of 14U's being able to play High School or WAHA Tier 2 Bantam/PeeWee.
